How did you spend your long Thanksgiving weekend?
The answer is likely a larger reflection of the state of your life.
Were you surrounded by family, food and the comforts of home, enjoying low-key, low-cost holiday traditions like decorating the tree, baking cookies, making crafts, relaxing by a fire, reading and resting, and feeling truly blessed? With holiday festivities and parties galore, December is a month when people find themselves overeating, overspending and overindulging. Sure, you may have an extra glass of wine, eat an extra slice of pie or need to buy a last-minute gift for an unexpected guest. But don’t give yourself a free pass to get snockered at your work party, gain 10 pounds or max out your credit card.
More importantly, don’t ignore your feelings. Think of them like your natural navigation system. Your Spirit will continue to find ways to speak to you until you take notice and listen.
Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? Are you in a dead-end relationship, but too afraid to end it for fear of being alone during the holidays? Do you feel guilty standing at the checkout counter paying with plastic and nauseous when the bill arrives?
Just as a vehicle’s GPS tells you when you are off course, you can trust your feelings to do the same. Don’t discount them as a way to gauge what is working and what is not working in your life.
We all know when something feels good. Yet, we second-guess ourselves when it comes to getting signals about what feels bad or whether or not we are on the right path. So many of us continue to deny that we know what is best for us when it comes to our health, our relationships, our finances, and our career calling.
Feelings of disconnection, discord and discontent are sure signs that your awareness is shifting and your soul is undergoing an awakening.
