In Praise of My Dog Daisy and experiencing unconditional love

We are all so blessed to have our 4 leggeds in our lives. I have had many cats and dogs over the years and I always rode horses as a child and loved the horse my sister had — Cherokee. I have totally loved them all, but I have to say, the love of a dog is so incredible — they are such examples of total unconditional love. They are such an example of the kind of unconditional love that none of us (including myself) seem capable of giving.
These are some of my favorite pictures of my beautiful, amazing, fantastic Daisy. The puppy one is when she was 5 weeks old and I could still hold her with one hand. She now weighs 97 pounds and continues to think she’s a lap dog.
The middle one was taken just a few weeks ago when we were hiking with her good friend Sophia (Sophia’s tongue is hanging out a little weirdly because she had just out of the blue given me a big, slurpy kiss and that’s why I’m laughing).
The 3rd one is just a beautiful picture of Daisy on our regular hiking trail – we climb Sugarloaf Mountain 3 times every week (with Sophia and her mommy, Susan).
Daisy, Daisy, Daisy. There is something about that dog love. Daisy, I must say,  is Perfection. She’s everything we all wish we could be. She’s:
• Beautiful
• In great shape
• Smiles all the time
• Absolutely loves everyone with whom she comes into contact
• Jumps on people she really loves
• Eats delicious, nutritious food
• Drinks a lot of water
• Gets plenty of sleep (including in the middle of the day)
• Hangs out and hikes with her friends
• Enjoys every minute
• Likes to snuggle
• Doesn’t regret the past or worry about the future – she’s totally present
• Loves me no matter what I do
• Pants when she’s excited
I want you to go back and read the list above and think about how you would be if you lived your life this way. Wouldn’t it be so absolutely great if you did all these things? Especially if you just started panting every time you got excited? (by the way, that’s actually something I do).
If we could all absolutely love everyone with whom we come into contact plus smile all the time plus drink a lot of water, the world would be a different place. And the amazing Truth is, we can all do all those things all the time.
How? It’s so amazing to me how the energy of unconditional love brings so many synchronicities into my life. After I had written the draft of this article, I was driving to go to lunch with a friend and started listening to the new Abraham CD which had just arrived in the mail. Abraham is one of my primary teachers and they said “you are completely misunderstanding unconditional love.” Now I had just spent that morning writing about unconditional love and here they are talking to me (directly) about unconditional love! They said “you think it’s about seeing that jerk in your life doing something ridiculously awful and then you say “I love him”. That’s not it at all.
“Unconditional love is about holding vibrational alignment with who you are no matter what the conditions are around you. It’s having a steady footing no matter what happens…Think about the emotion rather than the details that are causing it. Think about what it feels like to feel love, without the conditions, without all the conditions that led up to your loving someone with no feeling of needing to hold the outcome. If you’re not trying to control the outcome, if you’re just here — can you feel how you could, if you would try just a little bit, you could find an emotion of love… You have to find some way to stop holding yourself in vibrational discord with who you are.”
I love that — It’s about you staying in the place where you stand, knowing that you are in a place of being all that you are and not having the circumstances around you affect you in any way. To be so solid in who you are, having such a steady footing, that outside circumstances simply aren’t affecting you. You aren’t being knocked over every time something happens in your life.
And think about it, that’s how Daisy does things. She loves me no matter what. Every time I walk in the door she’s wagging her tail and can’t wait to see me and give me a big, wet kiss. She’s not trying to control any outcome. She is completely solid in her unconditional love for me.
Can you imagine being that solid? Of course, the question is how do you get there? Well, I would invite you to look at those adorable pictures of Daisy and spend the next week doing the list above. Literally. I want you to not regret the past or worry about the future, be totally present, enjoy every minute, pant when you get excited (you might have to go into the bathroom to do that one) get plenty of sleep and drink a lot of water. And if you’re able to even do 3 of those things, at the end of the week, in addition to the reward of feeling great, go ahead and lick yourself in some place that feels good.
If you’re not quite there yet, then you should come to Sedona and do a retreat with us.
Kevin says his Soul Adventure took him from fear and anxiety to unconditional love
“When I stumbled across Sedona Soul Adventures on the internet, I thought to myself, “this is what I’ve been looking for.” I had been stuck for about two years and tried all kinds of things with lackluster success. I had gone to counseling, hired life coaches, taken anti-depressants and read lots of books. Although I weathered a suicidal period, I could not kick the persistent feelings of fear and anxiety that nagged at me day and night. I called SSA immediately after discovering them on the web. We had a deep talk and then my Angel Guide called back with the retreat she had put together for me, and by that time my fear and anxiety had kicked in and I almost backed out. But I was sick and tired of the way I had been for two years, and decided to take the plunge. I am SO GLAD I did! Over the course of four days, I had a transformational experience unlike anything I have ever done.

As the adventure unfolded, it became clear that my experiences with each practitioner were building on each other. I also had some powerful insights while hiking on beautiful trails in the vortexes in between sessions. My goals were to rid myself of fear and anxiety, and regain my former enthusiasm and joy. The soul adventure exceeded all my expectations: not only did I meet my goals, but I learned how to feel and accept the unconditional love of God in a very real way. My adventure was an unqualified success, and I look forward to returning.”

Want some unconditional love?
We are all, each of us, aching to feel unconditional love. And actually, in the biggest way, we want to feel it for ourselves. It’s really not possible to feel it for another person until you’re feeling it for yourself. And I will tell you, my friend, most people (probably you) aren’t truly loving themselves. Why? Because we’ve all got all kinds of gunk and blocks and muck that are keeping us from connection from our true selves, from who we are. What’s the answer? To come back into connection with who we really are.
For some of us, that will mean just stopping and asking “what do I need here? What do I truly want? What does my heart tell me?” and then listening to the answers and following those answers.
For others, it may not be so easy. You might need some help, a nudge. That’s why I want to invite you to come to Sedona and do a Sedona Soul Adventures retreat. We can identify and remove the blocks, bring you back into connection and then give you the tools to maintain that connection. Just like we did for Kevin and like we’ve done for the thousands of people who have come to us over the past 12 years. Doesn’t that sound almost too good to be true? The amazing thing is that it IS true and that’s exactly what happens.
Again, I’m inviting you — Call us toll free at 1-877-204-3664 (US and Canada) or click here to request a complimentary Angel Guide Session.
If you are outside the US and Canada call 001 928-204-5988 or click here and we’ll call you.
Wishing you a week filled with unconditional love and panting and (hopefully) licking.
Many Blessings,
