Where Exactly Are You Rushing To?

Do you feel like you are rushing around all the time?
Running here and there and doing stuff and never really feeling like you’re getting anything done?
Feeling that little panicked feeling in your gut?
That tense knotted up feeling in the pit of your stomach?
Do you race out of the house and then forget to take the most important thing you were supposed to take with you?
Or constantly racing around looking for your keys or your sunglasses (and they’re on top of your head?)

If you said yes to even one of the things above, I want to share something that’s happened to me over the past few months. I think I have pretty much felt or done all those things from a really young age. Especially that tense knotted up feeling in the pit of my stomach and a generalized feeling of “I’ve got to do this”, “I’ve got to do that”, etc., etc., etc.

The shift started with doing a Mindful Yoga Session with one of our amazing practitioners here in Sedona, Marnie. It’s where you do just a few yoga poses within the hour, but  you do them veeeerrrrrryyyyy sloooooooowwwlllyy and with incredible intention. The session made me feel really great and that evening I was meditating and I suddenly had this thought that came in that said,

“you’ve been rushing around all these years, where exactly have you been rushing to?”

It knocked me for a loop. I suddenly saw all these visions of me rushing around, accomplishing nothing except that feeling of the knot in my stomach. I saw where I’ve cut short conversations with friends and family because I was “in a rush”. I saw where I passed up an invitation to visit a friend because I was “so busy”.

When I first saw this, I felt a huge sense of sadness. Sadness for time spent rushing around instead of connecting with my friends and family.

But then I felt this incredible sense of peace come over me. I was seeing images of me moving around calmly and with intention and feeling peaceful and serene. Wow.

Ever since then, I have been doing my utmost to STOP RUSHING. When I feel the urge (and you know what I mean, you can actually feel that feeling starting to push you), I just STOP. I tell myself I’m not going to rush. I’m not going to hurry. If it means I’m a few minutes late or something doesn’t get done today, that’s okay.

I could feel a real difference on our group trip to Peru in June. I enjoyed everything so much more, I had even more fun than I usually have, and it certainly made this very sacred journey even more sacred on so many levels. I had an incredible, almost unbelievable spiritual experience there that I don’t think would have happened if I had been staying in my “rushing” energy.

Once I got home instead of rushing through everything that had piled up over the 2 weeks I had been gone, I did everything slowly and deliberately. I actually feel like I got more accomplished than I did with my usual rushing around.

And now I’m preparing to be gone again for 2 weeks on an actual vacation and I can feel that old feeling start to creep in as there are so many things to do before I go. But, I’m making myself STOP and slow down.

Do I do this perfectly all the time? No. But I’m getting better and better at catching myself, at becoming more conscious of it and that’s what makes all the difference.

So, if you feel like you’re rushing around a lot, let me invite you to STOP. If you are looking for a little more peace in your life, I will tell you this is an incredibly effective tool. Here’s some ideas that might help you to get started:

1.    Sit quietly somewhere, close your eyes, take a deep breath and make the decision and set the intention “I am no longer going to rush through my life”. Then take a few minutes to visualize yourself moving more slowly and peacefully through your life. Just spend a few minutes doing this.

2.    Plan everything so that you are now leaving or starting 10 minutes sooner than you think you need to. This has an immediate, powerful impact. And yes, you can do this, just make the decision to do it.

3.    Start walking more slowly. You can’t imagine what a difference this makes. Just becoming consciously aware of this makes you start to feel more peaceful and more centered.

4.    When you start to feel that urge to rush, just STOP. Stop, take a deep breath and remind yourself of your intention.

Does this feel good to you? If so, I’d love to hear your comments or if you have more thoughts on how to stop rushing around post them by Clicking here.

The Moon is Void of Course today (August 17) at 8:26 AM (Eastern) until August 17 at 6:41 PM (Eastern) and the Moon is in Taurus. Don’t make any important decisions while the Moon is Void of Course. For a deeper explanation of Moon Void of Course Click Here.

Taurus is the bull and although this is a time when people can be very stubborn, it is also a time when we are attracted to calm and comfort., especially in our homes and our surroundings. This is a time when we tend toward the familiar and any kind of drama (especially with family members)  will be especially unwelcome.

This is a time when we yearn for and crave serenity and peace more than at any other time. It is also a time when we will feel more patient. Money and financial aspects are highlighted now, although when the Moon is Void of Course we may feel a need to possess things or possess other people. Be especially careful of your head or eyes. It’s not a good time to go to the dentist. Also, be very mindful of your ears and throat and your thyroid.

And always remember, Astrology and other tools are simply that – tools. It’s good information to have, but it does not mean that this is the determining factor or controlling your life. We all have free will in all the choices that we make.  I like to look at it as good information that can be transcended.

The Significance of 12

I love symbols and esoteric meanings of just about anything. Everything seems to have some sort of significance for me. So I was thinking about all the amazing things associated with the number 12 because Sedona Soul Adventures just celebrated our 12th anniversary – I can hardly believe it’s been 12 years!

So check out all these significant 12’s:

There were 12 Apostles
There were 12 Knights of the Round Table
There are 12 Tribes of Israel
There are 12 constellations in the Zodiac
There are 12 months in the year
There are 12 hours on a clock
Many cultures and traditions consider the age of 12 to be the time when children start the process of becoming an adult. Girls have their bat mitzvahs at age 12 (for boys it’s 13)
Jesus came out into the world and spoke his first words that are recorded in the Bible at the age of 12
We do eggs in a dozen
We do donuts in a dozen
A jury is comprised of 12 people
We have 12 ribs
There are 12 inches in a foot
Here’s my favorite – in Numerology, the number 12 is denoted as “cosmic harmony implemented in the physical world

So that’s what this special anniversary is for Sedona Soul Adventures. We HAVE been able to bring and implement cosmic harmony into the physical world, meaning that through the work we do we help to bring peace and harmony and joy so that people are actually experiencing that in their day to day lives on planet earth. Wow!

And it is still so amazing to me what happens even after 12 years and all these thousands of people. And I can say that because it’s not me doing it. It’s the incredible combination of the transformational energies of Sedona, the amazing practitioners who have been drawn here from all over the world to do their work and the intense desire that people have for transformation when they come here to do their Soul Adventure. It’s jaw dropping sometimes. I spoke with a woman who finished her Soul Adventure this week and she said to me, “it was so much more than I even dreamed it would be”.

And that’s what we hear all the time.

“This experience has been hands down the trip of my life.”
Danielle Fitzgerald

“Two words come to mind when I describe my experience: LIFE CHANGING. I left home and arrived in Sedona half a person, I came home complete, content, whole and Full of love. I “found” myself amidst the beauty of a place I now consider “home”. I look at life in a whole new light and enjoy each and every day. Thank you to all the wonderful people at Sedona Soul Adventures that helped to open me up to a whole new world of possibilities.”

Julia Roden

Can you believe we have an email that’s over 60 pages of testimonials? 60 is a multiple of 12!

The Moon is Void of Course today (August 15) at 11:50 AM (Eastern) until August 15 at 11:58 AM (Eastern) and the Moon is in Aries.

The Moon is Void of Course today (August 15) at 11:50 AM (Eastern) until August 15 at 11:58 AM (Eastern) and the Moon is in Aries. Don’t make any important decisions while the Moon is Void of Course. For a deeper explanation of Moon Void of Course Click Here.

When the Moon is in Aries, it can be a very emotional time. You will feel a lot of enthusiasm and you can feel a real urge to do new things. This is a good time to think about new projects, renovations, etc., just wait until the Moon has moved out of Void of Course to make any final decisions. It’s possible for you to be more impulsive, but also very independent.

The Aries moon deeply affects the subconscious, so this is a very good time to go within. A good time to meditate, do yoga, anything that makes you feel more connected to the higher part of yourself. Aries also affects the workplace, so it is a good time to think about future projects, just don’t make final decisions. You might also find yourself tempted to make rash decisions during this time, so be on the look-out for that. Aries also stimulates the metabolism, so it’s a very good time to do physical exercise, just be careful to not over-do. If you are feeling frustration during this time, just take some deep breaths and know that this too shall pass!

And always remember, Astrology and other tools are simply that – tools. It’s good information to have, but it does not mean that this is the determining factor or controlling your life. When the Moon is in Pisces, it is an incredible time for deep spirituality, deep emotions and deep intuition. You will feel very sensitive during this time and it’s important to not allow those emotions and sensitivities to tip into despair, as you can utilize this time to your advantage by going within.

By doing so, you can receive incredible insights as the past and present seem to merge together. Your imagination and dreams will be very strong during this time. If you find yourself leaning towards negative thoughts during this time, stay away from alcohol or drugs, as this time fuels the energy of addiction. On the other hand, it can be an incredibly creative time, especially for poetry, music, painting, etc. If you do work or activities that require concentration, be extra careful. The risk of fungal diseases is higher now; avoid surgery of the feet. This is one of the most mystical times – so take good advantage of that.

And always remember, Astrology and other tools are simply that – tools. It’s good information to have, but it does not mean that this is the determining factor or controlling your life. When the Moon is in Aquarius, you will feel an interest in new things, far out things. There is a sense of emotional detachment during this time. There is more of a focus on ideas and intellectual pursuits than on emotional connection. You may feel a bit more blunt during this period and other people may be more blunt with you. This could actually cause tenseness in your relationships, so be aware of that. For most people during this time, friends become more important than family. More focus might be placed on people in general as opposed to individuals (social consciousness).

This is a good time for people working with technology, with electricity and electronics and other types of science. New and original (even unconventional) ideas can best be fostered during this time. This is a very good time to do things to strengthen your cardio-vascular system. Be careful with your joints, veins and eyes. Be careful when handling electrical appliances. This is an excellent time for meeting with groups or in clubs and a wonderful time to contemplate (but not decide on) a new adventure in your life.

Fanatically positive-militantly optimistic [Free Download]

This past Tuesday evening I did my “Sedona Sharing” group coaching call that I do each month with our Sedona Soul Adventures “grads” — people who have completed a Sedona Soul Adventures retreat. I wanted to send the recording onto you, because I think you’ll really enjoy it.

In the recording I talk about that I’ve been preparing for a trip to England and I’ve been reading Rick Steves’ guide books. I love his stuff and in this recording I talk about (and we do a little process around) his travel philosophy of
Be fanatically positive and militantly optimistic!

I think that’s a fabulous philosophy not only for traveling, but for living life itself. I hope you enjoy the recording.

And if you feel you need some assistance in how to become fanatically positive and militantly optimistic, I want to invite you to come to Sedona and do a Sedona Soul Adventures retreat. Call and speak with one of our Angel Guides; they’ll have a deep conversation with you (or both of you, if it’s a couple) and they’ll custom design a retreat that will transform your life (or your relationship).

Call us toll free at 1-877-204-3664 (US and Canada) or Click Here and one of our Angel Guides will call you. For our friends outside the US and Canada call 001 928-204-5988 to speak to one of our Angel Guides or click here and we’ll call you.

The Moon is Void of Course today (August 9) at 4:09 AM (Eastern) until August 9 at 9:52 AM (Eastern) and the Moon is in Capricorn. Don’t make any important decisions while the Moon is Void of Course. For a deeper explanation of Moon Void of Course Click Here.

When the Moon is in Capricorn it’s a time of being dependable and following through. People will be working harder and it’s a wonderful time to really utilize your concentration and your focus. Capricorn is continually striving for financial security, so making efforts along that line will be very good. People may seem a little more stern during this time (as they are focused on their own concentrated efforts). But within the family, this is a time that brings out familial connection.

It’s a very good time to begin construction or to sell real estate and it’s a very good time for communication with influential people.
Be careful of your knees during this time. Also, be careful to not expose yourself to colds. This is also a time when skin ailments can flare up. It is a very good time to do anything that involves really utilizing your will power.

And always remember, Astrology and other tools are simply that – tools. It’s good information to have, but it does not mean that this is the determining factor or controlling your life. When the Moon is in Sagittarius it is a time of enthusiasm, idealism, generosity and it ignites desires for adventure and travel. People are generally very expansive during this time and it’s also a time that brings out our desire for independence. For work, this is a wonderful time for expansion, especially if your work has to do with studying, teaching, anything having to do with travel or foreign lands. It’s also a wonderful time to attend workshops or seminars or for any type of outdoor recreation.
Sagittarius rules the lungs, so be very careful of your lungs and respiratory system. This is not a good time for medical procedures that involve the lungs, but a wonderful time to use breath as a healing practice. It’s also not a good time to start building or construction. Also be on the look-out for people being untruthful with you (including stealing from you) and be careful to not over-indulge in gambling. If you are feeling restless, just take a breath and remember, “this too shall pass”.

The Moon is Void of Course today (August 4) at 1:43 PM (Eastern) until August 5 at 6:19 AM (Eastern) and the Moon is in Scorpio.

The Moon is Void of Course today (August 4) at 1:43 PM (Eastern) until August 5 at 6:19 AM (Eastern) and the Moon is in Scorpio. Don’t make any important decisions while the Moon is Void of Course.  For a deeper explanation of Moon Void of Course Click Here.

The Moon in Scorpio brings out deep emotions and also connects with our intuition and the unknown. It is a very good time to activate deeper levels of your consciousness and to access deeper levels of your intuition.

Scorpio is a very sexual sign, so it is a good idea to avoid sexual entanglements, but it can be a wonderful time to connect on a deeper level emotionally with your Beloved. Because emotions can be so strong and intense during this time, it’s a good idea to avoid family gatherings, especially where they may turn volatile.

In work, Scorpio is a wonderful time for deep focus and concentration of the mind. It’s a very auspicious time for psychologists and psychiatrists and for people who work with the sciences, because of this focus on concentration of the mind. Be very careful of over-indulging in food or alcohol and be mindful of caring for the sexual organs, endocrine system and the large intestine. Best to avoid surgery of these areas during this time. But remember that Scorpio is a very sexy sign, so have some fun!

And always remember, Astrology and other tools are simply that – tools. It’s good information to have, but it does not mean that this is the determining factor or controlling your life. We all have free will in all the choices that we make.  I like to look at it as good information that can be transcended.
