Do you know if YOU are a Highly Sensitive Person?
Want to know if YOUR CHILD is a Highly Sensitive Person?
Now, would you like to:
Are you a highly sensitive person? Watch the video
Do any of these describe you?
You’re a deep thinker and highly perceptive
The cornerstone of being an HSP is you process information differently and deeply.
This means you do plenty of reflecting on your experiences — more so than other people. Unfortunately, this also means you’re more prone to Negative overthinking. Sometimes you obsessively play events over and over in your mind or spiral into anxious thoughts.
Because you notice things that others miss, you’re seen as Perceptive and Insightful.
HSPs seek answers to the big questions in life. They ask why things are the way they are and what their role in all of it is. If you’re a highly sensitive person, you may have always wondered why other people aren’t as captivated by the mysteries of human nature and the Universe as you are.
If you said yes to a number of these, you may be a Highly Sensitive Person.
What does it mean to be a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP)?
It means that some or all of those things listed above happen to you on a regular basis. For most people, they feel misunderstood and criticized. Being told "Stop being so sensitive" just hurts and hurts deeply.
So for most people, finding out they’re HSP is so liberating. It means there’s NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU! You’re just Highly Sensitive.
And the best part is, psychiatrists and psychologists all agree this is a TRAIT – not any kind of mental illness or disorder.
The great part about being HSP
The great part about being HSP is that most HSPs are creative, deeply thoughtful, sensitive, compassionate and caring. They are usually highly intuitive and are seekers who are interested in the big questions of life.
The hard part about being HSP
The hard part is in the name. When you’re Highly Sensitive, you’re highly sensitive. You can react and over-react. Things hurt you deeply. You can feel overwhelmed a lot of the time. You might avoid going to large gatherings or events because it’s just too much. Even going into a crowded restaurant can feel like too much.
We have discovered over the past six years that a large number of our SSA clients are HSP
It’s not surprising, given that many HSPs are seekers and they are having difficulty in their lives and they have come to us for help. When they find out that nothing is wrong with them, they’re just HSP, they jump for joy! And we give them help in how to deal with and move through the hard parts while emphasizing the great parts and living their best lives.
And now we want to give that valuable information to everyone.
Did you know Alanis Morissette is HSP?

There is a fantastic movie about being HSP called “Sensitive”. The movie is really fascinating and it features Alanis Morissette.
Alanis had tremendous success writing songs that were the result of her being a Highly Sensitive Person, she is more creative and has more empathy. But in the movie she talks about how this has also caused a huge challenge for her because fame brought about so much attention and stress and overwhelm for her.
When she finally realized that she is a Highly Sensitive Person, it changed everything.

About the Masterclass
This will be a LIVE 90 minute weekly class on Zoom. The classes are both an informative and interactive group learning environment.
Between classes you will have homework to practice both individually and through exchanging practical applications with other participants in the group. Think how great it will feel to interact with other HSPs who really “get” you!

Elaine Aron and her important work

The Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) trait gained recognition in the 1990’s when Dr. Elaine Aron began researching Sensory-Processing Sensitivity (SPS), also known as high sensitivity. She found that up to 20% of the population exhibit this normal, but often misunderstood, trait. Over the years, this 20% has been proven across cultures and now scientists believe 20% of animals are HSP!
Dr. Aron, a professor, psychotherapist and researcher, spent over 3 decades researching the innate trait of High Sensitivity. An HSP herself, in her groundbreaking work she explored the challenges as well as the abundance of unique gifts that are inherent to the trait.
The characteristics of an HSP
Dr. Aron describes HSP’s with the acronym DOES.
D
Depth of Processing - Being a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) means that we are more aware of subtleties and your brain processes information more deeply. We HSP’s are described as observant before acting. The trait is characterized as a deeper cognitive processing of physical, social and emotional stimuli. We understand subtleties that might be missed by others which gives us remarkable talent for creativity, intuition, insight and caring. These are traits that our environment and society appreciate us for.
O
Overstimulation - Because a Highly Sensitive Person processes information deeply, we sometimes tend to get more easily overwhelmed when life gets too intense, complex, chaotic or novel over longer periods of time. We take in a lot of information at depth. This can also lead to being overstimulated by for example lights, loud noises, smells or chaos.
E
Empathy and Emotional Response - The word empathy can be translated as “feeling with” and describes our ability to understand and share the feelings of others. We HSP's essentially feel and integrate sensory information to a higher degree of attunement to others and our environment.
S
Sensitivity and Intuition - As HSP’s we are attuned to subtleties in perception, we notice the little things that other people often miss. This characteristic serves us in many ways, from strategic planning, to recognizing others’ nonverbal cues and moods or to gauging their trustworthiness. Many HSPs are highly intuitive and find unique ways to process and combine data to surprisingly innovative outcomes.
The Highly Sensitive Child
from Dr. Elaine Aron:
“What is a Highly Sensitive Child?"
A highly sensitive child is one of the fifteen to twenty percent of children born with a nervous system that is highly aware and quick to react to everything. This makes them quick to grasp subtle changes, prefer to reflect deeply before acting, and generally behave conscientiously. They are also easily overwhelmed by high levels of stimulation, sudden changes, and the emotional distress of others.
“So, what now?"
First, appreciate that this is a wonderful trait. It is no illness or syndrome. Nor is it something new I made up or “just discovered.” It is an inborn temperament or style that is found in about twenty percent of children and of nearly all animals. Anything so persistent is not abnormal. It represents a strategy of taking everything into account before acting (the other, more common innate strategy is to act quickly and be first, then think later). The trait serves an important purpose for the individual sensitive person and for the larger society–for example, sensitive persons sense danger and see the consequences of an action before others do.
One of the elements we will be teaching in this Masterclass is how you can help your Highly Sensitive Child.
If you have a child that overly questions things, is sensitive to loud noises, swings in temperature, likes things in very specific ways ("I don't want my carrots to touch the mashed potatoes!") or just seems more difficult to parent than other children, you may have a highly sensitive child and there are unique ways to work with them as individuals.
If you have a child that deeply reflects before acting, is quick to grasp subtle changes, seems very detail oriented, is sensitive to loud noises or chaos or is feeling overwhelmed more easily, you may have a highly sensitive child and, again, there are unique ways to work with them as individuals.
Join us for this Masterclass and learn how to understand your child so that you can help them find their place in the world, and you can have a more peaceful parenting life.

The class on the Highly Sensitive Person was outstanding. I had learned information and taken the test for HSP earlier, but this class was much more in depth.
The class gave me a deeper insight into my own personality/psyche. It taught me methods to use to stop and reflect on my own reactions to information or encounters. Things I thought were "weird" or unlike other people I realize fully now are actually gifts. As a child, I was always told "stop being so sensitive" or "why are you so sensitive?". I now understand things about myself that I did not belore. I am also looking forward to applying this information in my coaching of others.
Uta Komala's teaching style is gentle and non-judgemental. She has deep insight and knowledge. She is a gift to us all. I have bought the HSP workbook and am moving gently through it to continue to deepen my understanding of HSP.

The course was packed with great information, tools, techniques, exercises & resources. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to learn more about myself, my children & my clients. I give my highest recommendation to the Sedona Soul Adventures class “Master the Highly Sensitive Trait and Live Your Best Life,” led by Uta Komala Rohde. As she leads you on a journey to explore different aspects of the trait, you are also on a path self-discovery. Reading a book is good. Participating in a class with others who are highly sensitive offers much higher impact. I felt like I was in a safe, non-judgmental online community. In addition to the lecture portion, the exercises and meditations offered were easy to engage in and powerful. Thank you for sharing your gifts, Uta Komala. I looked forward to this class every week and didn’t want it to end.

Oh, how wonderful and freeing it has been to learn about the four traits that indeed are my gifts, and not! a shortcoming as a Highly Sensitive Person.
Thank you Uta Komala for these amazing transmissions.

I’m happy to say a few words about how much the HSP training helped me. This type of training is hard to come by and has been priceless for me in personal decision making. I no longer frame things as my limitations, I embrace them as my preferences. I recently chose to attend a six month online training over a month long in person 14 hour a day type program. As exciting and wonderful to do the hands on and full absorption, I knew that I would never thrive in an atmosphere of overwhelm with no downtime. I will cherish my unique traits and honor them by not trying to be like the 80%. Thank you Uta Komala for facilitating this gift to us!

The Highly Sensitive Person Class was a wonderful informative class to understand traits deeper in myself and those in my life who are also HSP’s. Uta Komala has a wonderful way of making the information easy to follow and time to integrate the information deeply.

It is my honor to share with you the positive outcome I had from "Master the Highly Sensitive Trait and Live Your Best Life" Masterclass through Sedona Soul Adventures.
I thoroughly enjoyed the classes that I was able to attend live, and so happy the recorded sessions were available to view when I missed due to work. As I re-listen to the webinar, I keep gaining deeper insight as I continue to process the information.
I have been studying my HSP trait for over three years. It changed my life learning about it, and it made sense of so many parts of me that seemed quirky and weak for so long. To reframe some of these special traits as “superpowers“ and to better understand how to utilize them as an asset has been very helpful!
Also, I learned more great tools of self-care in your class. I used to think of my younger self as a “drama queen“ but in this four-week session, I better understood that it was my high level of sensitivity that I was reacting to when I was younger, with no skill-set to work with it. Through this webinar, I feel as though a lot of healing happened in my past and offers excitement of the expansive future in front of me!
I really appreciate your gentle, clear delivery of new material and the space within the webinar to process and integrate new concepts.
I have been sharing my new awarenesses with friends and clients who are HSP. We’ve been learning together along the way and it offers a sense of freedom and connection like I’ve never experienced before!
