This Year Sucked…And Other Things To Be Grateful For
“This whole year has sucked!! I’m not thankful for anything!!”
I have heard so many people say that during this Thanksgiving and I certainly understand where it comes from.
This whole year has been really difficult for so many people.
Inflation has made everybody feel uncertain about everything. I’ll bet the cost of your turkey dinner was higher this year – I know ours was.
The leftovers of the pandemic continue to affect things, including the supply chain. We’ve been waiting on some building materials at our office for over 6 months!
The election and the polarization of our country seems to just be getting worse…
But I want you to stop and think for a moment and ask yourself this question:
What’s happened to YOU this year?
With everyone with whom I’ve had this conversation, when they’ve stopped and really thought about it, the answers have had a great deal of similarity. All of this stuff that’s been going on has made them stop and really think about the big questions:
How do I want my life to be?
How do I want my relationships to be?
One of the things that has been so interesting with the pandemic is that for a little while, the entire world stopped. It just stopped! And for the first time ever, we had something that affected the entire world! That’s never happened before in the history of the planet, not even during the world wars. One thing that affected everyone worldwide.
The whole planet just had to stop. And reflect.
And what I’ve been seeing ever since then, is that almost everyone I’m coming into contact with has realized some things:
- Life is short
- Life is too short for me to not be living my life in the way I want
- Life is too short for me to not be living my Life Purpose
- Life is too short for me to not be having the kind of relationships I want
- I want relationships that nurture me and make me happy, and life is too short for me to settle for anything less than that
It’s so interesting how when you get clear on that, suddenly so much stuff falls away.
Things that you thought you “had to do” either can’t be done in the same way or you don’t do them and you discover the sky doesn’t fall.
You start telling people in your life the truth about what you want and you’re amazed to find out they love you and want to support you in being happy.
All of this is exactly what we’re seeing in our retreats right now. Individuals who are coming are clear they want to start living their best life. See this Trustpilot testimonial. Mathew (not his real name) says:
“I feel like I have completely reset my entire being to a place of peace, clarity and best of all, Love.”
And I love how Jill says:
“I know my whole family will benefit from the transformational work we did during our time at Sedona Soul Adventures.”
And she’s so right! It not only transforms your life and the life of you and your partner, the transformations affect everyone around you. The biggest referrals we get are when clients go home and their friends or spouses or co-workers say to them, “What happened to you?” And then the friend calls us and says, “I want me some of that!”
Don’t get me wrong, this has been a very challenging year. But isn’t it fabulous that for so many people, all of this has given them a huge knowing of what they DON’T WANT.
And knowing very clearly what you don’t want is the first step of knowing and manifesting what you DO want. And for those who are willing, this can be turned into a time where you can get what Mathew got:
“A re-set of your entire being into a place of peace, clarity and best of all, Love.”
Can you imagine going into 2023 with a sense of clarity and peace? About all aspects of your life? All of that and more is possible. I love it so much (and you’ll see it when you read it) that so many of our Trustpilot reviews say, “My Soul Adventure was so much more than we expected!”
Call and speak with one of our Soul Guides. They’ll have a deep conversation with you about what’s going on in your life or your relationship. What are the parts that are working? What are the parts that aren’t working? They’ll start the process of figuring out where the problems are and what needs to be done. They’ll talk with you (or both of you for a Couples Retreat) about your deepest needs and desires. Then they’ll custom design a retreat that will take you from where you are to where you want to be.
Life’s too short to be living an unsatisfying life.
Life’s too short to be in an unhappy, unsatisfying relationship.
Remember, there’s no cost or obligation to speak with a Soul Guide and you can do your Soul Adventure in-Sedona or from the comfort of your own home.
Did you know Sedona Soul Adventures was named
“Best of Sedona” for Retreats for 2020, 2021 & 2022 and
“Best Marriage Retreats in the US” 2017-2022?
And Bride’s Magazine named us one of the
“11 Best Couples Retreats Around the World” in 2022.
It’s because what we do gets results – call us now, let us help. As I always say, if you knew what could happen, you’d be calling right now.
Would you like to speak to someone today about doing a Soul Adventure? We’re even open on Sunday, because we’re here for you!
Remember, there’s no cost or obligation and you can
do it in-Sedona or At Home.

Just a few spots left for our Egypt trip! March 9-22, 2023
Plus a 5-day add-on to Jordan & Petra (March 4-10)
Here’s your chance to go on this trip of a lifetime, but you must act fast!
I’m even more excited than usual (and remember, this will be my 23rd trip to Egypt!) because I’m finally taking a group to Jordan and Petra!
I went there the first time in 1983 and I’ve always wanted to go back. This is an optional add-on to the trip.
In Egypt, we go to all the must see places:
- The Great Pyramid (including 2 hours of private time just for our group for ceremony)
- The Sphinx (where we have special admission to do ceremony between the paws of the Sphinx — this is closed to the general public)
- Temple Complex of Karnak
- Luxor Temple (which we see lit up at night — it’s other worldly!)
- Abu Simbel (the largest statues in the world)
- The Egyptian Museum (to see the complete King Tut exhibit and all the other treasures)
And we go to places that the average tourist doesn’t go to, with special admissions provided for our group.
- Tomb of King Tut
- Tomb of Ramses VI
- Tomb of Seti I
- Isis Temple at Philae
- Hathor Temple at Dendera
- Horus Temple at Edfu
- Kom Ombo (dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and Horus)
- The Temple of Abydos
- The Osirion (to see the Flower of Life)
- Tomb of Queen Nefertari (which is so incredibly beautiful it’s called “The Sistine Chapel of Ancient Egypt”)
And now for the first time, we’ve decided to do a 5-day add-on to Jordan and Petra in between the two trips, so that people from each trip can experience these amazing places!
We’ll be going to Petra to see one of the most spectacular places on Earth, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea and Jerash.
Petra was one of the most important cities on the ancient trading routes of the Middle East back in the 1200’s. And then it faded into obscurity and for many years people in the West thought it didn’t even exist, that it was a kind of Shangri La that was mystical and not real.
But in the 1800s, a Westerner disguised himself as a Bedouin and was taken there. It was re-discovered and became known as “The Lost City.” Now it’s become a Unesco World Site, because it is so extraordinary.
Do you remember the ending of the movie “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”? This is the one where Sean Connery plays Indiana’s father. Towards the end of the movie they are taken to this mystical place where the Holy Grail has been kept for millennia (that part isn’t true).
At the very end, we see them riding off into the sunset away from this incredible place. Here’s a picture that shows the incredible stone structure, and why this place is called “the Rose City.”
In addition to Petra, we’ll visit Wadi Rum, the place that is also known as “Mars on Earth”. The landscape here is so striking and so incredible that many movies about Mars have been made here, including The Martian (2015), The Last Days on Mars (2013), Red Planet (2000), Mission to Mars (2000), etc.
Many other films also have been filmed in Wadi Rum, like Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Prometheus and Lawrence of Arabia. The real Lawrence of Arabia made his camp here during his campaigns. Wadi Rum is huge, over about 183,000 acres!
We’ll also spend an amazing day at a beautiful resort on the Dead Sea — on that day I intend to have a massage and a mud bath!
We will also visit the ancient city of Jerash. Jerash is considered one of the largest and most well-preserved sites of Roman architecture in the world outside Italy. And is sometimes referred to as the “Pompeii of the Middle East” because of its size, the extent of excavation and the incredible level of preservation.
And remember, the Jordan and Petra tour is an optional add-on, it’s just another fun, delicious opportunity we’re making available to you. What an amazing addition this will be to this already incredible trip!
