How Much Does a Spiritual Retreat Cost?

October 19, 2026

A spiritual retreat can cost anything from a donation to $15,000 or more. The biggest factor is the kind of retreat. Some meditation retreats run on donations. Group retreats split the cost across many guests. A private retreat, designed around one person or one couple, costs more.

At Sedona Soul Adventures, private retreats usually run between $5,000 and $8,000 for individuals, and between $12,000 and $15,000 for couples. Lodging, meals and travel are extra.

Below, we'll walk through what drives that number, what you're actually paying for, what isn't included, and a few honest questions to help you decide whether a private retreat is worth it for you.

The short answer

  • Donation-based: you give what you can. Often a meditation retreat with a set program.
  • Group: one price per guest, so the cost is shared. Everyone follows the same schedule.
  • Private (Sedona Soul Adventures): individuals usually $5,000 to $8,000; couples usually $12,000 to $15,000; lodging, meals and travel are extra. A retreat built around you: which sessions, in what order, at what pace.

What sets the price of a spiritual retreat

Three things set the price of almost any retreat:

  1. Group or private. On a group retreat, everyone follows the same schedule, and the cost is shared. On a private retreat, the whole experience is built around you, so you aren't splitting the cost with anyone else.
  2. Who guides you, and how much one-on-one time you get. Time with experienced practitioners is the heart of a retreat, and it's most of what a private retreat pays for. On a group retreat, a teacher's attention is shared by everyone in the room. On a private retreat, your sessions are with practitioners chosen for you, and the time is yours.
  3. What's included? Some retreats bundle rooms and meals into one price. Others charge for the work itself and let you choose where you stay. Two prices can look very different simply because one includes a hotel and the other doesn't.

What you're paying for at Sedona Soul Adventures

Our price covers five things.

  1. A consultation before you arrive.
It starts with a conversation. A Soul Guide listens: what's happening in your life, what you've already tried, and what you'd like to be different. The consultation is free, and it's how we learn enough to design something that fits you.
  2. The design
We work with a network of Master Practitioners whose sessions span hundreds of different approaches, from breathwork and bodywork to hand analysis, family constellations and past life regression. Your retreat is built from them: which sessions, in what order, and at what pace. Order matters. One session can prepare you for the next. A big realization gets room to settle before the next step. An example of a four-day plan might include sessions like Sedona Heart Healing, Inner Journey with Breath and Sound, Release Your Issues From Your Tissues, Life Purpose Hand Reading, Family Constellation Work and Past Life Regression, with space left open where you'll need it. Your own plan will look different, because it's built around what you share in the consultation.
  3. The sessions themselves
Some sessions take place in our session rooms at our Sedona headquarters, and some at our practitioners' own private spaces around Sedona.
  4. Support, from start to finish
It starts with an orientation at our offices when you arrive. We check in with you throughout your retreat.
  5. Support when you go home
Your retreat doesn’t end when you leave Sedona. A full year of online support is built into the price: a mix of check-ins, coaching and online classes such as breathwork, with at least one thing on your calendar every month. It’s there to help you carry what you found in Sedona into everyday life.

How long is a spiritual retreat?

Most people stay four to six days. Individual retreats are at least three full days, and couples retreats at least four.

The final cost depends on three things you decide together with your Soul Guide: how long you stay, how many sessions you choose, and which ones.

What's not included

Lodging, meals and transportation are not included. You choose where you stay in Sedona, and that's separate from the retreat itself. When you plan your budget, set aside an amount for your room, food, flights and getting around.

So when you compare retreats, compare what's actually inside the price: how much of it is the work, and how much of it is the room.

Individual and couples retreats

Individual retreats usually run between $5,000 and $8,000, for at least three full days.

Couples retreats usually run between $12,000 and $15,000 for a couple, for at least four days. A couples retreat mixes sessions you do together with sessions each of you does on your own, depending on what you need.

Is a spiritual retreat worth it?

Only you can answer that, but a few honest questions can help:

  • Have you already tried a lot? Books, podcasts, workshops, maybe other retreats, and found that the insights faded once everyday life took over?
  • Is what you're carrying specific to you, so that a fixed group schedule wouldn't really fit?
  • Would several days of one-on-one time with experienced practitioners change what feels possible?

If you're nodding, a custom retreat may be worth the investment.

If what you need most is rest, time in nature, or the energy of a group, a group retreat may suit you better, and it will cost less.

A retreat isn't therapy or medical care, and it doesn't replace them. No one can promise how a retreat will turn out. What a private retreat gives you is time, space and experienced guides, arranged around you.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a spiritual retreat cost in Sedona?

It depends on the kind of retreat. At Sedona Soul Adventures, private retreats usually run between $5,000 and $8,000 for individuals and between $12,000 and $15,000 for couples. Lodging, meals and travel are extra. Donation-based and group retreats cost less, because the cost is shared.

What's included in the price of a private retreat?

At Sedona Soul Adventures: a consultation before you arrive, the design of your retreat (which sessions, in what order, at what pace), the sessions themselves, an orientation when you arrive, check-ins during your retreat, and a year of online support after you go home.

What isn't included?

Lodging, meals and transportation. You choose where you stay.

How long should a spiritual retreat be?

Most people stay four to six days. Individual retreats are at least three full days; couples retreats at least four.

Is a private retreat better than a group retreat?

Not for everyone. A private retreat fits best when what you're carrying is specific to you, or when you've tried a lot and want concentrated one-on-one time. If you mainly want rest, nature or the energy of a group, a group retreat may be the better choice, and it costs less.
